Keper
Connell has always been connected with the ocean. He was
born on March 15th 1979, which makes him a Pisces. Along
with a lifelong passion for surfing and diving, he is now the
captain of his own boat. From his home port in Rye, NH
Keper runs a budding charter service. When he is not
guiding, he is lobstering or tuna fishing
His work on the water has come from years
of experience of crewing on service boats from York, ME to
Hampton, NH. All of this knowledge has allowed Keper to
create his own service unique to his outlook.
Keper is very personable and has a good
sense of humor, which proves to be a necessity on the
water. He wants to share his knowledge of fishing and
the water. Come join him on the F/v Marianne for a
memorable trip in the Gulf of Maine.
f/v MARIANNE
In the winter of 2002, Keper
purchased a 24' Privateer Renegade. After selling the engine and ripping apart
the structure, all that was left was the hull. From there,
he and a local boat builder began to engineer a cabin and
wheelhouse to fit his style of fishing. The hull was then
matched with a 2002 Honda 130 fourstroke, which provides superior
power and efficiency. In January it was just a hull.
In April it was a stealthy workboat named Marianne, after his
mother. In June Marianne was launched and the season
began. Along with his blossoming charter business, Keper
also lobsters and tuna fishes throughout the year. Working
on the water provides a modest living, and perpetuates Keper's
ongoing relationship with the sea.
